Minutes of the Staffing Committee held on 12th of January 2022 in the Council Office, Haxby Memorial Hall at 4pm.

PRESENT:   Cllr M Guilford (Chairman)     Cllr D Rice    Cllr K O’Sullivan

  1. Approve reasons for absence

          Resolved to accept Cllr M Preston and I Craven’s reasons for absence.  

  1. Disclosures of interest

          None

  1. Minutes of the previous meeting

          Resolved to approve the minutes of the Staffing Committee meeting of the 25th of November as a true and accurate record.

  1. Exclusion of members of the Press and Public

          Resolved to exclude members of the public and press under the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960 due to the nature of the                following business to be transacted in relation to being prejudicial to the public interest.

  1. Recruitment of an Administrative Officer

          Resolved to approve the appointment of the selected candidate, subject to positive references and three-month probation period, with               employment commencing on Monday the 7th of February.

  1. To consider a flexible working request

          Resolved to approve the following,       

  1. The committee approves the request for flexible working.
  2. A further Street Cleaner / Groundsman is recruited for 18.5 hours per week
  3. Delegation is given to the Town Clerk and one other Councillor to conduct the recruitment of the role.
  4. The salary is confirmed as Scale point 4 (£18,933 pa / £9.34 per hour) Below LC scale for staff other than the Clerk.
  1. To notify the Clerk of any items for future agenda

          None

  1. Next meeting date

          The next meeting of the Staffing Committee will be decided by the Clerk and the Chairman of the council.
