This year a number of bus services were changed including the number 13 and 14 along with creation of 1a route, which included the West Nooks location.
Haxby Town Council is a member of York Bus Forum, which holds monthly meetings with its members to discuss the issues around services with the managers from a number of bus companies and representatives from City of York Council.
The bus forum's knowledge and experience has been useful especially regarding the reduction in the number 13 service at the Haxby and Copmanthorpe ends challenging the proposed changes and assumed impacts.
Councillor Ian Craven on behalf Haxby Town Council has raised the bus changes and the reduction of bus services in and around residential areas providing mobility support to the residents in Haxby. The bus forum has allowed the council to debate and make suggestions to the bus managers present at the meetings.
The outcome so far is that it appears that the 1A route has incorporated Eastfield Ave and Oak Tree Lane, which is an improvement on the original route. Route 14 has changed operator from Transdev to East Yorkshire.
Our participation in the bus forum is allowing Haxby Town Council to contribute to issues that impact on the residents of Haxby.
